SPECIES. Found a way to take another breath of life.
Playable Species
[IN SHORT]
----LENIEL. Vaguely zombie-esque and descendants of the human race, they live in Shikarious. They are able to use magic to some degree and can tolerate extremely cold climates. As a country, they are neutral; they won't get involved in many conflicts.
----HUMANS. Humans are well known for their scribes, so-called prophets, and idealists, as well as their museums and gambling houses. A very numerous race, they can be found all over Drezen. Very rarely, they have magic, but tend to rely on science and weaponry. Their country, Erihall, is home to the largest city-state, the Capital.
----FOLK. Folk are what one would generally call a 'Witch' or a 'Warlock', who use spells to access their power. They can pass as humans for the beginning portion of their life, until their magic 'mutates' them- although they still retain a great deal of their human-like features. Half-breeds tend to be more powerful than their pure-blooded counterparts; the most powerful of the folk are enlisted within the Kautensa.
----ANGELS. Angels, unless they are Fallen or Disgraced, will not be found out of the floating country of Cabriel. They are loyal to a Council lead by The Speaker. The more powerful of Angels (around 15% of them) are close to immortal and are extremely powerful. As for any gods , legend has it that they used to guide Cabriel, but the Angels aren't sharing.
----DOPPELGANGERS. Doppelgangers usually share a 'consciousness' with their litter until they form a bond; they lack individuality and always travel together until that point. They usually live up until two-thousand years or so, more or less if they're bonded with another sentient being.
----CAMURAEL. No Camurael believes/thinks/does the same thing as another. Camurael have no visible government, but are generally controlled by the more powerful members of the group. For the most part they are indifferent to the suffering of any other race, but have become much more wary of them over the last century. They have a particular animosity towards Angels, especially among older generations, who still remember the years under the Icerin Concordant.
----FEY. They are experts at working the system - any system; it's what allowed them to flourish under the control of the Angels. Their government is ethical in its own way. Some call them magical mutations of other species and they tend to have animal characteristics.
Other Information
Camurael, Human, and Folk are the most prevalent species. All species are able to have nearly any type of magic, so long as it is not extremely world altering. No species is able to have the power to control time or space, with the exception of the chryn.

LENIEL. The crimson-stained sunshine seems to touch everything.
>Leniel are rarely seen any other place besides their city, SHIKARIOUS, outside of winter. Leniel are a former hybrid species, but exist independently today. Leniel live in cold places and find themselves uncomfortable in warm temperatures, with a higher body temperature than Humans. They must use charms and spells, bought from Folk, if they wish to travel and remain in comfort.
GENERAL APPEARANCE. Leniel, while differing greatly in appearance from person to person, usually share a few traits. They will either have deathly pale or overly ruddy skin tone; this trend is carried out in other aspects of their appearance, with traits carried out to the extreme. A Leniel is usually deathly cold, and their colouring is often very vivid. Their eyes will rarely be a mix of colours; for example, a blue eyed Leniel will have icy blue eyes, with no traces of brown (this is because of the way the genes for such are passed down). Some Leniel may have prominent or sharp teeth and claws, depending upon their ancestry.
Previously, children were able to come out of a relationship with the Leniel and any other species (with this applying to every species) in the human's genetic facilities, but due to the war, this is no longer a possibility.
LIFE CYCLE. Leniel children are born small, but fully developed, with a extraordinarily tough skin and bones; they are also able to speak within a few months, and walk within weeks. Growth, however, is slow coming. Over a fifteen year period, a child is likely to only grow to half their expected height (usually three and a half feet), and will remain in adolescence until their 30's. By their late thirties, the Leniel will have finished growing and have entered adulthood. The age that they live to greatly depends on their ancestry, but it will generally be between the 200-600 range.
POLITICS Formally a monarchy, the government is slowly sliding into a Parliamentary government; the majority of the parliament are former nobles or the wealthy, although there are those who represent the people. At the moment, Leniel are involved in no political feuds; there are debates, occasionally public, on taxes and how communication with other countries proceeds. The Leniel government is considered to be one of the more efficient ones, and generally benevolent to the people.
ALLIES AND ENEMIES The Leniel stay out of other governments as a generally policy, to the extent that they can, only engaging in trade with them when they are required to. If war was to break out again, they would likely ally themselves with Folk; they especially dislike the Camurael, their culture against anarchy as a whole.
CULTURE Generally peaceful and non-religious, the average Leniel is likely to concern themselves with family rather than any worldly ideas. Leniel are unlikely to be outspoken, or have extreme views on something (a contrast to their appearance), but will likely have strong morals, especially regarding family.
They speak two similar languages - Criten and Illyrin - as well the language Corinth, which is the language known and spoken by every species. Whether they speak Criten and Illyrin depends upon if they live deep inter-city or by the wall (those who live closer to the center speak Illyrin). The main difference between the languages in the way vowels are pronounced - with them being drawn out and soft, with multiple forms, in Illyrin - and the spellings, although they differ comparitively little between languages. Most Leniel known all three by the time they die.
Children are educated at home, but may be sent off for specialized training or apprenticeship by they time they are in their late teens - early thirties, depending upon the profession.
ABILITIES. A Leniel is less sensitive to cold and pain than Humans, Folk, and Fey, especially in their youth. They only have slight remains of magic from their parent species, and will not often be able to do more than simple healings and elemental spells, and are able to use charms and protections created by the Folk.

HUMANS. I cannot see the future, and the past is so frightening.
>Humans are well known for their scribes, so-called prophets, and idealists, as well as their museums and gambling houses. They maintain relations with most races and, therefore, are often found in other countries, even if they aren't of any political or social importance. Humans reproduce quickly and have the largest population. They very rarely have magic or other gifts; to make up for that, Humans have guns and other explosive weapons.
GENERAL APPEARANCE. The majority of the species is typically pale skinned and dark haired; however, some Humans will dye their skin and hair various shades (both natural and not) depending on their work, or personal preference. Their eye colours vary from dark and light, with blue, brown, and red pigments possible (although the latter is quite rare). One of the smaller races, 6'5" is usually their height limit, with weight varying from 100-220 lbs. once full grown.
LIFE CYCLE Human children are born unable to walk and take care of themselves in any form or fashion. They are taken care of in their own homes, even if the condition of the home is of poor quality. They are full grown by 15-23 years of age, on average. The age that a Human can live to is 150-200 years; there will be some Humans who can live longer, usually due magic or organ/body part replacement surgery, if they are extremely wealthy.
POLITICS Erihall, the home of the humans, is ruled by the Kautensa along with a select group of elected officials, with an election occurring every three years. They decide how everything operates, from the remaining sciences to education of the children. The Kautensa is not looked upon fondly by the people of Erihall, and is not well-liked by the other countries.
ALLIES AND ENEMIES They are allied with Shikarious and Ibannon, to some degree, but tensions are growing. The government likes to put up a farce that they are still allied with Colfay, but they fool very few.
CULTURE Humans are adaptable, but do not tend to have strong morals and beliefs as a result. They practice various religions throughout Erihall, but none have a strong majority, or are supported throughout the country. They are very social creatures, but tend to ostracize those they suspect are wholly different or potentially pose harm to them.
The majority of humans speak varying dialects of Corinth, and little else. Some humans are taught Criten (most are unable to speak Illyrin), and some are able to speak the language of the Folk.
Children are expected to work, or gain an education to do so, by the time they are twenty, younger in the less wealthy districts. In some parts of Erihall, children are expected to provide for their parents when they grow elderly; in other parts, they are completely independent of each other once the child is able to support themselves.
ABILITIES Some intelligent humans are able to use magic, but only through intricate castings and years of training, and often are only able to perform in one disciple. Instead, most, have incredible weapons that often operate on solar or soul energy.

FOLK. I see that the present is just as I imagined—But is it for me anymore?
>Folk are what one would generally call a witch, who use spells to access their power. They can pass as humans for the beginning portion of their life, until their magic 'mutates' them- although they still retain a great deal of their human-like features. Folk can use most any type of magical spells (although they usually have an affinity with an element or specialty) along with creating charms and protections for other species. Half-breeds tend to be more powerful than their pure-blooded counterparts; the most powerful of the folk are enlisted within the Kautensa
GENERAL APPEARANCE. Folk are generally human-like in appearance until they 'over-dose' on magic. On average this change happens while they are in their 40-50's, all depending on their power-level. After this change their body may change in any way possible, although it usually is related to the magic they use the most. As they grow older, their appearances change dramatically to reflect their power; the more powerful may become their element entirely. For example, a Folk with the power of water and nature may have their body become gradually composed of water and leaves.
LIFE CYCLE Folk tend to age as a human for the first twenty years of their development, with very few digressions in appearance. Their magic does not fully manifest until late in their twenties. A Folk's livespan is greatly related to their magic, both power and type. However, the normal age is 700-1000; few, very few, are nearly immortal.
POLITICS Their government is a monarchy, ruled by a King and Queen. The positions are earned through combat or trickery, and are not hereditary. The Folk are all extremely loyal to their rulers.
ALLIES AND ENEMIES If war were to break out, again, they would fight with the Leniel with or without the Humans. The Folk keep to themselves, except when they which to trade or lure people into their kingdom.
CULTURE The Folk culture praises things that the Human culture finds unsavory, such as lying, murder, and thievery, as long as it is done in a clever and, at the time, undetectable manner. They look down upon those who are not intelligent and witty, and many are dedicated to scholarly aspects and inventions.
They communicate through a light telepathy that is strongest with touch (though it's considered incredibly rude to do so), and only works within a 5m radius without effort. However, they are able to speak Corinth and all languages, should they desire to learn them.
ABILITIES. Folk have heightened senses and can endure much more than one would think was possible. Their abilities cover a wide range of things, usually elemental, and can excel in any number of them. They have superb memories with allows them to hoard and perfect their abilities. Half-bred Folk are considered some of the most dangerous beings in Drezen due to their volatile, powerful magics.

ANGEL. My heart is weeping—I am so numb that I think I am dying.
|
[/i] >Angels, also known as Holy Children, are a very rare species on Drezen. There are very few of them to speak of these days, though they were never especially numerous. Within the species there are several types, the forming of which led to the lessening of their numbers. The majority of them reside in Cabriel and do not leave the floating city for the duration of their lives.
PURE. These Angels are the most plentiful. They aren't really pure, or what is generally thought of as pure, and they do not call themselves by that name. The pure are called such because of their appearance, which is clean and bright, by the Humans and other races. They stay in their city for the most of their lengthy lives. Cabriel, as their floating city is so called, is fiercely guarded and entrance is denied to all. They have no interest in the rest of the world and could care less if everyone were to die. It is not recommended to break into Cabriel, as they are not merciful.
DISGRACED. The Disgraced Children have also gained their title from humans; they are not disgraced by their brethren; they may not be favorites, but they are still accepted in society. They have a grittier, darker appearance than Pure Children and do not stay in Cabriel, making the Humans (along with the Leniel and Folk) believe they have been cast out. However, in truth, 'Disgraced' Angels leave Cabriel for their own reasons, fully supported by their kin, from seeking a reason in life to finding a certain type of food.
FALLEN. This type of Angel is not quite a Child at all. They have been exiled from Haven, permanently, for committing an evil doing. Fallen Children are not necessarily evil, as a major crime may consist of bringing in a member of another species into Haven, but most are. Their bodies grow corrupt and mutated from the soul inside (the more severe the appearance, the more malicious they are); their powers are only available to them a few days each month.
GENERAL APPEARANCE. Angels vary in appearance, but generally look somewhat androgynous and expressionless. All Angels have wings, but they are not visible to any species other than the Fey and themselves.
LIFE CYCLE. Angels are created by the previous generation sacrificing part of their soul and placing it into a body - created through spells and ritual - to grow and flourish. Angels live in two forms during their lifetime; they can stay in a physical body, and have a non-physical ghost-like form. When they are in their non-physical form, their body is stored in a pocket dimension. Angels live up six-thousand years, though there are legends that say they once lived much longer.
POLITICS They are governed by a council of fifteen Angels; those on the council are raised from birth to take a position. The seats are not always hereditary, but it often happens that the most suited Angel is the one who is the child of a member. They are the ones who organize worship and other such events for the remainder of the Angels. The Council is mainly symbolic, though record has it that they used to be the most important people in all of Drezen.
ALLIES AND ENEMIES They profess no allegiance or amity towards or with the other species. However, they do not think highly of the other races, especially the Camurael, and will not hesitate to maim or kill if someone gets in their way.
CULTURE They are very religious as a whole, praying to and worshiping many gods. The devout, and there are many of them, spend nearly their whole day in worship or performing tasks which reflect their respect for the gods. They take pride in being a very quiet, undisturbed race.
Angels communicate within each other using a series of quick paced hand movements, combined with a series of clicking sounds. They communicate their moods and such using clicking; it is said to be extremely creepy to be in a crowd of them. Angels consider it rude to show emotions so clearly on one's face and will often seem stoic and unfeeling (in private, however, Angels are free to display emotion). Many are able to speak at least Corinth, and Council members are able to speak every language on Drezen.
ABILITIES. Their strengths lay with shielding magics, among other things. This is one of the reasons why Cabriel is nearly impregnable. Their other most prominent strength is in healing magic; Angels can heal themselves and others, even after they've been decapitated, if they act in a timely manner. The only way to make sure that they are dead is to burn or shred their bodies, as well as performing a ritual which severs the soul from the body.

DOPPELGANGERS. I need you to taint me—I need to be taught how to feel.
>Doppelgangers are born in a 'litter' of four, six, or ten. They may be born in smaller or larger litters, but it is extremely rare. Even more so due to the small number of the doppelgangers that exist. They usually share a 'consciousness' with their litter until they form a bond; they lack individuality and always travel together until that point. They usually live up until two-thousand years or so, more or less if they're bonded with another sentient being. They are the rarest species.
GENERAL APPEARANCE. All doppelgangers have the exact same appearance. A feathery, thin black body that often resembles a ragged cloak. They have no limbs, nor anything else that would be in a normal human body. Their 'heads' are similar to clear globes, filled with magic substance.
[REFERENCE COMING SOON]
ABILITIES. Doppelganger have the ability to change their appearance. A doppelganger may form a bond/serve with/for another creature; the ganger will only die when the other does. To assist them, they have gained the ability to communicate telepathically to their bonded partner. They are dangerous and very powerful; doppelgangers are typically used for assassinations and less than legal deeds. Most of them are bonded with members of the Kautensa.

CAMURAEL. All of this dissonance seems so unending.
> Although a large deal of things are known about Camurael, it is difficult to draw conclusions from this data, due to that almost no Camurael believes/thinks/does the same thing as another. Most of the relations with the Camurael (and the data that came with them) have fallen apart after the disappearance of Coriant Areiki. Camurael have no visible government, but are generally controlled by the more powerful members of the group. For the most part they are indifferent to the suffering of any other race, but have become much more observant of them over the past few years.
GENERAL APPEARANCE. The more powerful a Camurael is, the less likely it is to resemble a human, however it is much more likely that will have the power to put an illusion themselves. Low-level Camurael are very human-like in appearance, with only a few quirks or markings to differentiate them from a normal figure. High-level demons, especially ones of the highest court, are often twisted and cruel looking, with a body structure most unlike any other creature. However, in general, they have warmly-colored eyes and thin bodies, decorated in way that reflects their status and ability.
LIFE CYCLE. Camurael grow and age at different rates, as they all vary. The less power that a Camurael has, the sooner it will die [from old age]; typically, they live 300 to 3000 years.
ALLIES AND ENEMIES They are apathetic towards more races, politically, only feeling true animosity towards the Helig Kinder.
CULTURE The Camurael are known for having for having almost no shared culture in between each individual, besides each creature being fiercely independent and ruthless. They speak two languages, Kleten and Corinth. Kleten is very similar to Corinth, grammatically, as well as sharing the same alphabet and having many words in common. There are some powerful Camurael that are called Nobles who can exert great influence over the majority, but they have receded in importance of late.
ABILITIES. Most Camurael have very little magic (or do not make use of it), as their bodies can withstand most of the magics performed. They have a tendency to fight much like an animal, with long claws and a mouthful of fangs. They can regrow lost limbs and organs.

FEY. What is most valuable—What is worth defending?
>They are experts at working the system - any system; it's what allowed them to flourish under the control of the Angels. They are in general, atheists. Their government is ethical in its own way. They are magical mutations of other species. They have fanged mouths; and are often mistaken for the familiars of the mythical 'vampires'. Basically, they are talking animals -- among other things.
GENERAL APPEARANCE. Varies from being to being; they are usually animals or very animal like in appearance.
CULTURE. They have a sutaten - a government - that meets every month, with representatives from each clan that exists within the Fey society.
ABILITIES. Most can see the future and share prophecies, although can't always be trusted. Most can see in pitch darkness due to their luminous pelts, and have superior night vision. Each individual has a single power unique (mostly) to them.
